About Brad
Brad has lived in the Suffolk and Norfolk Senate District since 1993, first in Norwood before building a house in West Roxbury at the age of 24. He graduated cum laude from Middlebury College with a degree in Economics and Environmental Studies. While at Middlebury he played soccer and was a Big Brother in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Brad worked in Dedham full-time while earning an MBA from Northeastern University in 1998 with a 3.7 GPA.
In high school Brad graduated at the top of his class, was President of the National Honor Society captained his varsity soccer team and was awarded his school’s Distinguished Achievement Award at graduation. Brad studied math in the SUNY Buffalo Gifted Math Program after testing as one of the top 60 math students in Western New York. As a senior Brad broke his high school’s single-season scoring record. For his exploits on the pitch, Brad was named to the All-Western New York soccer team.
Today Brad is a Principal at Boston Investment Advisers, Inc., a registered investment adviser. BIA provides investment management services to individuals, families, trusts and retirement plans. Brad is the Director of Investment Research and also a client counselor. Previously, Brad held the position of Director of Investment Research at Wingate Financial Corporation, a Lexington, MA-based investment advisory firm, where he chaired the Wingate Investment Committee.
Locally, Brad recently led the effort to reactivate the Boston Ward 20 Republican Committee and was elected Chairman in May of 2009. In November of 2009 he became the Vice Chair of the Boston City Republican Committee. He is a long-time member of the Trustees of Reservations and a lifetime member of the National Eagle Scout Association.
Brad’s family has been involved in Scouting for three generations. Brad and his brother followed in their father’s footsteps as Eagle Scouts while his grandfather received the Silver Beaver Award – the highest local award for an adult leader. Brad’s brother and sister-in-law live in the Boston area and are expecting their first child in June. When he isn’t working or campaigning, Brad is an avid tennis and soccer player as well as a skier. Brad is a shareholder in the Mad River Glen Cooperative which operates Mad River Glen ski area, the only cooperatively-owned ski area in America.
